Dealing with a Fellow Sinner  ::  08.30.01

You’d think with all the grace and mercy that we’ve received from God that we would be overjoyed to extend God’s love to other people. Well...we forget.

We forget that we are all sinners in need of God’s grace. We forget that we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. We forget that we all are like little lost sheep. No one is exempt. No one is perfect. How do we so easily forget this and thus become offended at someone else’s shortcomings? We should remember.

I want to be more aware of my sins than someone else’s faults. I can do this through love because love covers over a multitude of sins. I want to examine my reactions to other people more then I replay their reactions to me. I can do this through love because love keeps no record of wrongs.

It’s only by God’s grace that I can put on love. Every day I pray for Him to work in me to conform me to the image of His Son. Every day through my little trials and struggles I am learning how to love others. And I am thankful for the lesson.
